Our Staff
We always have a tremendous staff at Camp Voyageur and 2010 features a crew of CV all-stars. We are a small camp maintaining a ratio of one at least one well trained counselor per four boys. Most of our counselors are trip leaders and besides going through our two week staff training they have current certificates in Wilderness First Aid, CPR and Lifeguard Training. All of our counselors are at least college age and some have graduated.

Johnny Alden
|
Johnny Alden is returning to Camp Voyageur. He was a long time camper and has been a long time staff worker. Among other things he will be our CV evening program director. His background in film making brings a lot to our camp stage and all around fun.

Joe Baumann
|
Joe Baumann is finishing his senior year at University of Wisconsin at River Falls, majoring in Music Education and plays the trumpet. Joe will join us for his third year as counselor.

Bob Corpus
|
Bob Corpus, a long time camper, will join the CV staff as a counselor. He has worked the last few summers as a lifeguard, and attends Xavier University in Cincinnati where he is an accounting major.

John Greist
|
John Greist will return to CV as a counselor. He is a graduate of Indiana University with a Marketing and International Business degree. Prior to camp he will travel to Hong Kong.

Peter Grunawalt
|
Peter Grunawalt is a first year counselor after being a multiyear camper. He's gone on several of our CV expeditions in Montana and the Wabakimi. Originally from Cleveland and now attends the University of Vermont in Burlington.

Will Hebert
|
Will Hebert, a longtime camper will join us on our staff for a second year. A sophomore at U of Montana he is learning new outdoor skills in the Wilderness and Civilization program there.

Clement Pellissier
|
Clement Pellissier will join us on our staff second session as a counselor. He hails from France and is presently studying in Paris.

Henry Rodman
|
Henry Rodman is a California native who has moved to Minnesota. Henry is an accomplished musician and plays guitar and piano. He also composes music. This is his second year as a counselor after being a multi year camper.

Nathan Walsh
|
Nathan Walsh returns to CV after a long hiatus. A college graduate who worked at Goldman Sachs. Presently he's in Samoa volunteering with Kiva

Ellen Anderson
|
Ellen Anderson will join us in a different role this year at camp. She will lead our girls trips. She will graduate from St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN and is headed to Dartmouth College to pursue an advanced degree in English.

Suzanne Erdmann
|
Suzanne Erdmann grew up at Voyageur and has taken and led several guided girls trips. She is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Duluth Outdoor Program. She and lives and works in Duluth and is a certified yoga instructor.

Nina Haaverson
|
Nina Haaverson will join us for her second year at camp. She is an excellent all around cook with a solid background in quantity cooking. Her specialty though is her baked goods

Nellie Nadeau
|
Nellie France Nadeau is our 2010 Registered Nurse and is originally from Canada. She married a doctor and lives in Forest City California. She's an accomplished outdoors person and enjoys canoeing, camping and baking. She is heading to medical school in August.

Nan Peterson
|
Nan Peterson will join us for her third summer at camp. She's a wonderful cook and a master at bar cookies and introducing Plate Tacos to Voyageur. She is a teachers aid in the Ely Public School System.

Jan Rue
|
Jan Rue is originally from Ely but has most recently been a cook at a Whole Foods Coop in North Dakota. She is a fabulous baker and will bring new ideas and recipes to CV's kitchen.
